Because development in one area is blocked, sometimes development/achievement will naturally flow in a different direction.

There are plenty of IQ tests that are completely nonverbal. My kids were administered a couple that are normed on deaf children - no verbal interaction of any kind needed, or expected. Why can't they use one of those as a baseline? It might very well qualify him for gifted.

I just had to intervene again for my wandering kid. They didn't have enough structure in place for him, and he was getting increasingly difficult to manage. I'm hoping that the recommendations I am getting implemented will help, but only time will tell.

Good luck with the next phase.Ina Picklehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00605391829768043557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27817243.post-84075329129256510752011-02-17T11:01:18.742-05:002011-02-17T11:01:18.742-05:00Yes how will it be addressed?

Flexible. We have a social stories book now and some strips to help when verbalization disappears. Again, giving him the tools to handle stress, to communicate that stress/upset with minimum input from the Teacher.

I have no goal of graduating highschool with the younger. We're simply taking it one day at a time. The elder will and I forget just how quick he's come in how short a period of time.farmwifetwohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02680758336779501712noreply@blogger.com
